Not all the songs in Tony Hawk games are great, which is probably why several of them were cut for the Pro Skater 1+2 release. Of all the newly added songs, "Can I Kick It?" by A Tribe Called Quest is the most welcome addition and a near-perfect fit. A Tribe Called Quest is still one of the greatest hip-hop groups of all time, and "Can I Kick It?" is the perfect addition to a Tony Hawk game and vibes well with the '90s nostalgia Pro Skater 1+2 fosters. Not all the new additions are recent, though. "Duck Eat Duck World" by Destroy Boys and "West Coast" by FIDLR are both fairly recent songs and both are standouts. However, the game also features some great new additions to the soundtrack. Other fan-favorites like "When Worlds Collide" by Powerman 5000, "No Cigar" by Millencolin, and Bad Reglion's "You" are thankfully in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 as well. It's like skateboarding through a time warp and coming out in 2000. It's a callback to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, and it's instantly invigorating.

As soon as the opening movie starts, Rage Against the Machine's "Guerrilla Radio" begins to play. Goldfinger, Anthrax, and Bad Religion are still here, as well as songs from artists like A Tribe Called Quest, Zebrahead, and Black Prez. Now beautifully remastered, the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 & 2 soundtrack is bringing back ( most of) your favorite tunes. And while there have been plenty of subsequent games over the intervening decades, few have come close to capturing the way we all felt when we first started busting out 900s in step with Jello Biafra and Les Claypool.

By combining a sublime soundtrack with solid gameplay mechanics, the first two games helped solidify the series as one of the best sports franchises of all time.
